Free Websites for Ten Charities This Summer

Free websites for ten local charities this summer, a Digital House offer

Community

We are giving away ten complete websites this summer. Designed, built and delivered free of charge for registered charities, CICs and constituted community groups across Hampshire, Berkshire and beyond.

This is not a discount and not a template. It is a complete website, designed and built by us, at no charge. Ten of them, given away this summer, with applications closing at 5pm on Wednesday 30 September 2026.

What is included

Every one of the ten charities gets the same thing: a proper website built from scratch, with the pages a charity actually needs.

  • A complete website, designed and built from scratch, up to eight pages.
  • Copywriting included. You just provide bullet points.
  • The pages you actually need: Home, About Us, Who We Help, Success Stories, Events, Become a Volunteer, Donate (including a donation button) and Contact Us.
  • Social media links and map details included.

Ten places. Once they are gone, they are gone.

Priority goes to organisations under £250,000 turnover, and a group run entirely by volunteers is exactly who this is meant for. Small is the point.

What you still pay, said plainly

We would rather put this near the top than bury it, because a free offer with a surprise in it is worse than no offer at all. There is nothing to pay for the design and nothing to pay for the build. You cover only your own running costs:

  • Hosting at £15 + VAT a month. Your site has to live on a server that is patched, backed up and monitored, and the fee includes up to six email addresses, monthly backups, security upgrades and website maintenance.
  • An SSL certificate, free for the first year, then £75 + VAT a year. Without it, browsers put a “not secure” warning in front of your donors.
  • A domain name, if you do not already own one, at £25 + VAT for a .co.uk domain.

Why we are doing this

We have been building websites for organisations across Hampshire and Berkshire for many years, and we see the same pattern time and again: the groups doing some of the most important work are often the ones apologising for their website. You can see the kind of work we do in our case studies.

In the coming months, ten local organisations will have a website they can feel proud of, and we believe that is work genuinely worth doing.Barbara Payne & Sarah Ford, Managing Directors, Digital House

Who can apply

Registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations (CIOs), community interest companies (CICs) and constituted community groups. A church running a food bank or a school with a registered charitable trust both qualify. If you already have a website that is letting you down, that is a reason to apply, not a reason not to: we will replace it and carry across your content, your domain and your donation platform.

How it works

  • Apply using the short form on our Free Charity Websites page before 5pm on Wednesday 30 September 2026.
  • We design and show you your real homepage before the rest of the build continues.
  • You have 10 days from the date we send it to tell us whether you are happy to go ahead. If we do not hear from you within that time we may offer the place to another organisation, simply because there are only ten of them.
  • We build the remaining pages, add your donation button, social links and map, and put the site live on your domain.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No design fee, no build fee, no invoice at the end. You pay only your own running costs: hosting at £15 + VAT a month, an SSL certificate that is free for the first year and £75 + VAT a year after that, and a domain if you do not already own one.

Do we have to use your hosting?

Yes, and it is very reasonably priced. At £15 + VAT per month it includes up to six email addresses, monthly backups and security upgrades.

Do we need to supply the photos and the words?

Photographs help enormously and real ones always beat stock. On words, we will take what you have, tidy it and structure it. Writing an entire site from scratch is not included, but we will not leave you staring at an empty page either.

What if we miss the deadline?

Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday 30 September and we will not extend it. If you are reading this afterwards, email us anyway. We cannot promise anything, but we would rather know you exist.
